New collaboration between Gardena/Gröden, Alta Badia, Madonna di Campiglio, Bormio and Fondazione Cortina 2021 to promote Alpine Skiing on the road to the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals Cortina d’Ampezzo 2020

Cortina d’Ampezzo, 25th October 20. This season there won’t be the World Championships nor the Olympic Games, so the classic Audi FIS Ski World Cup races will be the ultimate goal for all the athletes. Cortina d’Ampezzo will host the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals where, after five race days, the crystal globes will be awarded to the best athletes of the men’s and women’s World Cup season. Cortina will be the end point of a great season with the usual kick-off in Sölden and the Italian races in December.

The 3Tre in Madonna di Campiglio will be the first Italian race in 2020 on 8th January. This is the first time this spectacular night slalom takes place in this part of the season. Every year, 3Tre, Italy’s oldest ski race now in its 66th edition, draws thousands of fans at the foot of the legendary slope Canalone Miramonti, directly in the heart of Madonna di Campiglio. A few weeks later, the women’s Audi FIS Ski World Cup will be in Italy, first in Sestriere (on 18th and 19th January) and then in La Thuile in late February.

In detail, this collaboration includes activities such as digital communication and promotion of events, joint participation in main and side events and the enhancement of the territories as destinations dedicated to alpine skiing. In particular, a special deal was reached with Gardena/Gröden, Alta Badia and Madonna di Campiglio: if fans buy a ticket for one of these three World Cup races, they will get a 15% discount on the online ticket purchase for the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals in March 2020. This will be a unique opportunity for fans to experience the thrill of a World Cup race, support their favourite athletes on the slopes Saslong, Gran Risa and Canalone Miramonti and then cheer for them during the Finals on the Vertigo slope in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

This cooperation aims to establish a successful collaboration between all the Italian mountain organisations in view of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in February 2021, i.e. the most important international sporting event to be held in Italy in the next two years.

Tickets for the Finals can be purchased online from 1st December on the Cortina 2020 website (www.skiworldcupfinalscortina2020.com) or on the Cortina 2020 app, while tickets for Gardena/Gröden, Alta Badia and Madonna di Campiglio can already be purchased on their respective websites (www.saslong.org, www.skiworlducup.it and www.3trecampiglio.it).
