Throwback to 18.01.2019 | Olympia delle Tofane
At dawn everything was ready and the curtain was raised on the 27th edition of Cortina Classic, the Cortina Audi FIS Ski World Cup that has been held on Tofane every year since 1993. The first rays of sunshine on the Dolomites, the athletes focused on the course set on Olympia delle Tofane, the iconic slope, #TheQueenOfSpeed with its famous Schuss, and the breathtaking view of the Cortina valley at the foot of the mountains. The show was really exciting, thrilling, moving… The last World Cup race of Queen Lindsey Vonn with her friend/rival Sofia Goggia paying homage to her, the back-to-back wins of Ramona Siebenhofer and the victory of MikaelaShiffrin.
This year, the Queens of speed will come back to Cortina in March for the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals scheduled for 18-22 March 2020.
5 days of races and many events, the Men’s World Cup coming back to Cortina [after the last Men’s World Cup race won by Kristian Ghedina in 1990] and the first time of the Men’s and Women’s tech disciplines in Cortina. Don’t miss this thrilling show [tickets here: link], followed by an even more thrilling one, the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 8-21 February 2021.
And what about Cortina Classic? It will be back in 2022!
While waiting for the Finals next March, let’s go back to 18 Jan 2019… Watch the video with the highlights of those days on YouTube.
